Found in the glow — our story

Orbit Muse began, as most good things do, with a slightly unhinged Sunday.

Ella and Iris were flatmates in London, both stubbornly convinced that nails could be a personality accessory — not just something you booked a salon for. But the salon cost £70 a visit, and the polish never survived the week. The cheap press-ons from the pharmacy came in one mystery size, slid around, and looked like stickers: the kind of nails that say "I gave up" instead of "I glow".

So, being stubborn, they made their own. They measured every nail — because it turns out your thumb and your pinky have never agreed on anything in their lives. They tested shapes, finishes and adhesives until they found sets that stayed put through typing, dishwashing and dancing, and came off gently so the same set could be worn again. Every set is still finished and checked by hand in London, and sized in XS, S and M, because the right fit is the whole point.

Orbit Muse is the name they gave to the small things that orbit around you every day: the colour you choose on purpose, the set that turns a Tuesday into a treat, the details that make you feel quietly, unmistakably yourself. Their first studio was a kitchen table. Their current one is a workbench with better lighting and a lot more glitter.

The sets are reusable by design, because beauty shouldn't cost the earth every time you want to feel good. And they're made the way Ella and Iris wished someone had made them years ago — properly fitted, properly finished, and made to be worn like you mean it.

Meet the founders

Ella is the fit obsessive: she measures nail beds for fun and won't let a set ship until it sits right. Iris is the colour brain: she can name forty shades of pink and turn a mood board into a nail set by Tuesday. Together they test every set before it goes live — usually while arguing about which shade is "the one".

Orbit Muse began in London with a simple idea: press-on nails should feel considered, not disposable. Each collection starts with a mood, a colour or a small detail worth noticing. We choose designs for balance, wearability and the story they help you tell — then every set is hand-finished and checked in London before it leaves the studio.

That check covers finish, detail, consistency and presentation. We want every set to feel special when it arrives, and to be cared for, removed gently and worn again whenever possible. Handmade collections are crafted by hand; if a future collection is not handmade, we will say so plainly.

For us, more considered beauty means making specific choices we can stand behind: reusable designs, thoughtful materials and clear claims.
